The Pharaohs lived in Egypt and ruled Egypt. They belonged to the Ibti people who lived by the Nile River. They became powerful and influential, to the point they claimed themselves to be gods. They build and lived in large structures. They build the pyramids for their dead. Today, the pyramids are included as 7 wonders of the world.
For Muslims, we only take lessons (ambil iktibar) from the incidence involving the Pharaohs. We do not have to look up to them. They were people whom Allah SWT destroyed. Today in Malaysia, especially in the Klang Valley, people are trying to relive and make belief and welcoming back the era of the Pharaohs and try their best to reconstruct that era. This is evident at Sunway Pyramid and all other venues that try to reconstruct that era. For the Muslims, it is a shame to rebuild that era and to visit the pyramids in Egypt. The Quran tells of how Allah SWT destroyed them and for what reasons they were destroyed. So we don't have to feel great to revive the Age of the Pharaohs here in Malaysia - I think we should be ashamed if we understand the Quran.
